Practices

2025 Fall

Instructor-led practices are on Mondays and Fridays (please see the schedule below) in the T-Club Lounge or DuPont Multi-Purpose Room. If you are interested in joining the club, please come for one of these practices!

Self-practice sessions are on Wednesdays. These are not instructor-led and are instead an opportunity to practice what you have learned. That said, if higher ranked students are present, they will be able to help you.

Directions

T-Club Lounge (W31-125)

Enter through the Z Center (W35).  From the turnstiles at the Vassar Street entrance, walk straight down the hallway (on your left will be Rockwell Cage basketball/badminton/etc courts, on your right will be the pool locker rooms).  When you can’t walk forward any farther (there will be a drinking fountain in front of you), go through the doors on your right, and you will be in a lobby.  At the nearer end of the lobby is an exit to the outdoors, go to the opposite end of the lobby, next to the foosball table there is a door to another hallway going the same direction as the previous one.  If you walk down that hallway all the way to the end (the end at Mass Ave), but on the second floor (one floor up from where you started; there are stairs at both ends of the hallway), the T-Club Lounge is directly in front of you.  It is a room with wood floor and mirrors in the front.

Multipurpose Room (W31-225)

Enter building W31 directly (not through the Z Center), through the very large doors on Mass Ave.  Go up the stairs to the second floor and turn right.

Locker rooms in W31

Please use the DuPont locker rooms for changing before and after practice. The locker rooms (men’s and women’s) are located on the ground floor of W31, one floor below the T-Club Lounge, midway through the long corridor. If you’re having trouble finding them, don’t hesitate to ask a more experienced member in the practice room!

If you have problem finding the rooms, don’t hesitate to email us at shotokan-karate-officers@mit.edu, we will send someone to show you the way.
